We Are Golden

He Gave Her A Star

We all have something in common—star dust.

Everything comes from atoms and atoms come from stars. So when a star explodes, its atoms are freed and, as stardust, travel around the universe.

While on tour, atoms collide into one another, mate, fuse and create  new realities.

Thus the death of a star gives life to new possibilities. In other words, the end of one thing means the beginning of something else.

So let’s go explode some stars together.

Foiled By The Foil

Tin Foil Hats

Like flies gravitating towards honey, the aliens are always trying to get near me and I’m afraid of being abducted again. To protect us from their mind invasion attempts, I’ve made several tin foil hats.

They want to read my thoughts so they can steal my ideas.  Technologically they are very advanced but their creativity stops there.  Have you seen the way they dress?  Yuck!  Maybe they want to steal my Muy Marcottage designs.

When our neurons communicate with each other, they create brainwaves.  Different brainwaves create different frequencies and different frequencies have different effects on us.  These frequencies can be used for mind control.

A tin foil hat helps shield the brain from invasive electromagnetic fields.  Like a Faraday Cage, the hats help block frequencies used for telepathy and thought manipulation.

Telepathy was once used a lot by Earthlings for communication.  But then demographic explosions and the written word changed everything. We became so bound to matter that we lost our capacity to communicate via thought vibrations.  But since the aliens still communicate via telepathy and not words, looks like I’ll be wearing my tin foil hat for awhile.  Who knows, maybe I can set a trend and make wearing  them fashionable!

An Alien in My Mirror

καλό μήνα

The Alien Within

Last night I had some very strange dreams and woke up feeling a bit disoriented.  But I proceeded to initiate my day as I normally do.  You know, in front of the mirror brushing my  teeth, washing my face, combing my hair.  But something about my reflection was nerving me out–the “me” in my mind was not the “me” in the mirror.

Self-perception can be a problem.

Marian Keech and her cult group known as The Seekers claimed they’d received a message from the inhabitants of planet Clarion telling them that the world was about to be destroyed. Luckily, thanks to their faith, the Seekers would be rescued by a flying saucer. So on the evening of December 21, 1954, they sat around together waiting for the apocalypse.  The Seekers waited and waited but nothing happened.  However, instead of admitting that they’d been wrong, they said it was thanks to their prayers that God had decided to prevent the destruction.

When reality attacks our illusions, we try to rationalize the irrational. This tendency to seek consistency when there is inconsistency is known as cognitive dissonance. In other words, we lie to ourselves when we aren’t happy with the truth.

So am I really me or just somebody else?

Octopus Aliens

They Waited On The Line

Outside tavernas here on Paros, it’s not difficult to see octopuses hanging out to dry so they’ll be tastier when cooked. I normally don’t give them much thought but today while walking by, I got the feeling that they were looking at me.

Octopus Alien

Maybe I took notice of them because of all the recent internet articles referring to them as aliens.

Because of their “out of this world” genetic make-up, the late zoologist, Martin Wells, said that octopuses were aliens because their DNA is so complicated it couldn’t have originated on earth.

Apparently octopuses are smarter  than one would think as they are able to opens jars, solve puzzles and hold a grudge. Octopus suckers have chemo-receptors  that allow the octopus to taste what it’s touching. They automatically reject touching themselves to avoid becoming a tangled mess.

The ability of Paul the Octopus to predict the 2010 World Cup only adds to the alien theory.

The octopus was a favorite motif for Minoans, an ancient civilization that mysteriously disappeared.  Some scholars speculate that their disappearance was caused by the Santorini volcano whereas others say they were invaded by barbaric ”sea people”.

And, of course, there are those who believe that their disappearance was caused by aliens.  After having helped the Minoans to evolve, the aliens simply dismantled their  civilization when it no longer served them.

So,  should octopuses be in outer space or on the grill?

Martian missionaries

Martian Missionaries

I was busy in the kitchen when the doorbell rang.  Two door-to-door Martian proselytizers were there waiting to convert me.  Easily amused by those who think they can change my mind, I decided to hear them  out.

Mars use to be a great place to live until it was destroyed by a nuclear bomb. Fortunately, a number of Martians  were able to avoid the disaster as they were out in spaceships patrolling the galaxy. However, no longer having a home to return to, these survivors were forced to create secret colonies on other planets (mainly Earth).  And because of so much hatred and racism, they were forced to live in disguise.  The Pope’s speech last year manifesting his willingness to baptize Martians gave them the courage to come out of the closet.

Knowing that on Earth there are those who have a reckless attitude in terms of nuclear energy, the Martians hope to encourage mankind to seek atonement and repentance for the damage he’s done to the universe and, obviously, to refrain from doing more.

Well, there was no need of trying to convince me of anything as I was already in total agreement.  But just to make them feel good and motivate them to continue their mission, I told them that as a result of their excellent argumentation, they’d persuaded me to be anti-nuke. Happy, they left and I then went back into the kitchen in hopes of resuscitating my fallen soufflé.
